Emma: 7-8 Months

My little girl is getting so big. She turned 8 months on December 27th and today at a doctors appointment she weighed in at 18 lbs and 1oz. She still fits 3-6 months clothes, but her legs are SO long. Her pants are size 9-12 months. I keep telling Phil that she is going to be taller than the both of us (we are both shorties), but he refuses to believe it.

Despite the fact that most infants her age are rolling around and crawling, Emma just has no interest in it. She has hated being on her tummy since she was born, so any position on her tummy is torture for her. We are working on tummy time and she is getting better at rolling and holding herself up, but not without a fight.

Emma, does however enjoy sitting, standing and riding on toy cars.

Emma has had to learn how to get bundled up. This is a change from her normal wardrobe: a onesie. She does alright except when we put on hats. There is always a wimper when we put them on.

Emma also enjoys putting everything and anything in her mouth. She has two bottom teeth and we can see a few coming on the top. Poor girl is teething like crazy. So, she loved Christmas when we allowed her to open her presents by chewing them open.

She loves chewing on Dad's and Mom's face.

And she likes snacking on cheerios, and other small snacks

On January 2nd, Emma said "Dada." Yes, despite the picture below, she LOVES her daddy. Phil was so excited that she said his name before mine. She doesn't know what she is saying yet, but she is really good at saying it. (Update: on January 12th she started saying Mama, yay).

I can't believe how big out little girl is getting. Check out this comparison photo. She started as a 6lb 15oz baby. Now, she is 18lbs 1oz. Too weird!!!

She can stand all by herself (if she is leaning against something).

Comments

  1. I wish there was a place to comment on all the pictures because they are all so cute. But I think I like the one where she is eating Phil's face the best :)
