sick as a dog, but hopefully better smelling :)
There is nothing worse than cheep and rough toilet paper for a nose that just won't quit running. I finally broke down and bought the good stuff: Ultra Soft Kleenix tissues with aloe lotion. It's like butter, it's better than butter. My nose is recovering, as is my body from a pretty intense cold. Thank goodness for Nyquil.
Well, Adam and Meghan have officially left Hawaii. They are in Maryland now :( :) I had to put a sad face and a happy face because I am sad they are gone and SO FAR AWAY, but I am so excited for them and the new adventures that await them there.
So, lets see, what else has happened lately. Oh yeah, today I got called as my ward Relief Society President. Yeah. Phil was so kind as to announce to his family this evening at dinner, "Everyone, Keola, has some exciting news for you." Thus implying that I am pregnant, because apparently that is the only exciting thing that happens to married people. Everyone snapped their heads towards me with smiles, someone even squeaked in glee. I, on the other hand, quickly blushed and brushed off the news to my husband with a "what?" Then, he laughed and announced the real news, that I am now property of BYUH 6th Married ward. haha. Just kidding. I am excited/nervous/???(something no word I can think of describe) to serve the Lord in this capacity. And I'm hoping that He (a.k.a. the Lord) makes good on his promise to qualify who he has called (a.k.a. Me).
As for other news, Phil's Salsa concert was this week Saturday. It was a rocking concert. Here are some pics to show you how much they rocked and how hot my husband is. :)
Also, this weekend was a smacking 4-day-weekend thanks to the business conference that happened and good ol- Kuhio day, also referred to as Cookie Dough Day, because apparently "Kuhio" and "Cookie dough" sound alike. I was told this by a friend from Utah. It made me smile.
Steel Band played again this week for school donors, but the real deal, our big concert of the semester, is coming up the day after my birthday, April 5, 2010. 7:30 p.m. at the BYUH auditorium. Happy Birthday to me, there is nothing like playing steel pan to celebrate 23 years of living on this beautiful planet.
Also, Phil and I partied at the Winterball this Thursday and danced the night away with Lauren (Phil's sister) and Felix. Enjoy these pics of us all prettied up.
Lastly, but certainly not least. Our good friend Jackie Demoss got baptized yesterday, and confirmed today. It was a beautiful baptism and was exactly what I needed to cheer me and stop pitying myself for being sick and miserable. I love baptisms, there is something so simple and pleasant about them that turns me into a giddy fool.
Well, I am feeling better now, just in time for my husband to start getting sick. Sharing is caring, right ;)
